How this library came
into the being
and how it is helping students & scholars across the globe
Maharaniadhirani Kam Sundari Devi(Founder Trustee), donated her entire collection of more than 11,000 books, Sanskrit Manuscripts, Paintings, almost 12,000 photographs, Old Gramophone Records and 18 (16 m.m) Kodak films (shot between 1932 – 48 covering various socio-cultural events and visits of national and international dignitaries). She also donated late 18th and 19th century Artefacts, furniture, historical documents such as diaries, letters, sanads etc.
M.K.S.Kalyani Foundation also received late Kumar Jeveshwar Singh’s collection of books and manuscripts related to tantra from his wife Smt.Irawati Devi.
Further, M.K.S.Kalyani Foundation also acquired the personal libraries of late A.N.Jha, I.C.S.(son of Mahamahopadhyay Dr.Sir.Ganganatha Jha), late Professor Ramkrishna Mukherjee (Eminent Sociologist of India), Shri Dharma Nath Mishra and Shri A. S. Thakur (Retd. I.R.S). Old and rare journals and a number of books were donated to Foundation by late Professor Hetukar Jha (the founder Hon. Managing Trustee of the Foundation).
